AREA INFORMATION
The Township of Windsor is located amid the
natural beauty of the Appalachian Mountain
Range, just west of Huntington, WV. With
Windsor and Mason Townships having a rural
setting, they boast of spectacular woodland
scenes, strong
neighborhoods and a highly-respected school
district.

PERSONNEL
The Windsor Fire Department responded to
over 100
calls for service during 2006. Our ability
to handle these calls is enhanced by
our strategically located firehouse, apparatus
equipped for multiple uses, and the utilization
of cross-trained personnel. Two
firefighters are cross-trained as Emergency
Medical Personnel.
In addition, many of our personnel have
specialized training in technical rescue such as
Hazmat Technician and dive operations.
Our firehouse is staffed
with volunteers throughout our region who are on
call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The
assignment of apparatus at the firehouse allows
crews to respond with either an rescue truck or
a fire engine depending on the nature of the
call received.
As we are challenged by ever increasing demands
for service coupled with challenging fiscal
responsibility, the Windsor Fire Department
continues to maintain its commitment to serving
the community with well trained and equipped
firefighters and Emergency Medical Responders.
